"I've had enough of civvies these past few days...." says Ka'den, approaching the Twi'lek. "Hey, lady. Udesii, alright? We're headed to the Outer Rim--you know, where the War is right now? If you don't terribly mind the idea of ruining some of those fine clothes, I'm sure you'll find that a Mandalorian, a Tusken, a scrappy city mongrel, and 'brains' here, who I hear is all manner of brilliant, will be an adequate escort--what do you say? Do we have a deal?"

OOC: I think I just channeled the spirit of Malcolm Reynolds. Too much Firefly for me....

"Excellent," the Twi'lek said. "I'm specifically looking for passage to Durace. I doubt you've heard of it, but there is something there very important to me. As I said, I'm willing to pay 250,000 credits to anyone who will get me there and back to the nearest spaceport."

"Durace isn't exactly an Alderaanian holiday. Even entering the atmosphere is a risk, not to mention the space around it being thick as ronto stew with pirates and worse. It'll take 250,000 credits up front, plus another 250,000 upon completion of the task. Half a million per crew member by the time the job is done." Ka'den looks appraisingly at the woman's clothes and then crosses his arms. "That is..." he says, after a long pause, "...IF you've got that kind of money...I'd be glad to take the job, and I'm sure my associates would as well."

Lirc pulled Ka'den back a few steps: "Hold up a minute, buddy. She said she's looking for passage, ergo no current form of transportation. We can provide the crew, but how are we getting her to Durace? I ain't walking... it's a long, cold float through space and I prefer to live to be able to enjoy payment."

Ka'den is taken aback, and says, "Huh...I assumed being a Tusken, you'd be familiar with forceful commandeering. My apologies for the rude generalization," he adds dryly, and turns to the rest of the crew. "Does anyone else have any objections to a little reallocation of surplus civilian transportation commodities?"

Lirc clammed up at Ka'den's reference to his heritage. Yes, he remembered well the traditions of his Tusken brethren. But he had given up their barbarous ways and escaped from that sand-covered, forlorn land that inspired naught but madness and hostility. "Just because I was born a Tusken, does not mean I must forever be a raider."

He took his leave from the conversation, but he stopped momentarily as he passed by Seethor and whispered, "I'm not trusting the gung-ho, unlawful spirit of our self-appointed leader. Does your experience and big brain tell you that you can really trust him, Cerean?"

"I've had some dealings with mandalorians before...if things go array we'd best watch our backs...he won't hesitate to shoot a poison dart in your neck or blast a whole in your head if it meant getting away for him. Then again you cannot know the actions of one mandalorian mercenary just because of the behavior of his brethren...i'm just going to keep a close....very close eye on him. Of course we won't have anything to worry about as long as everything goes according to plan. Speaking of the plan, I could'nt help overhear your conversation with ka'den and the twi'lek. I would be happy to show you both how to procure a vessel for transport without forceful commandeering or killing."

OOC: I would be happy to hijack a ship sense i'm a smuggler...i should now a thing or two about hotwiring a ship. Just a thought....we could steal the millennium falcon? I don't read star wars books so i'm not up on if the falcon has an established history but it should be build by now sense it was seen in the background of episode I or II (i forget which one)

OOC: The Millennium Falcon is currently named the Stellar Envoy and is in the possession of the Galactic Senate on Coruscant. It was built about fifty years ago at this point.

"Ok, I'm in as long as you're sure we can do this without casualties. I don't believe in what a Mando would call 'acceptable losses.'" Turning from Seethray, Lirc returned to Ka'den and the Twi'lek. "Alright... what's our first step?"

OOC: Lets get something with some power, if possible. I'd be up for stealing the Stellar Envoy if fortune brings us near to Coruscant.

"1500 it is, Ma'am. And you can meet us wherever you like, because as long as you hang on to this," Ka'den takes a tracer from his belt, "we'll be able to track you. Also, we don't take off until the credits have transferred, understood?"

After she leaves, Ka'den turns to the others. He hasn't overheard much, but from their body language, he can sense something is wrong. 'Well, you'd think I was Demagol himself, the way the Tusken is looking at me,' he thinks. 'I must have said something to make him think I'm a complete barbarian.' He says aloud, "Stealing a ship is much more efficient without any casualties. The loss of one rich civilian's personal vessel isn't high priority to Republic law enforcement right now, whereas an armed take-over of a ship...well, that's a terrorist action. We're at war after all, in case you've missed the HoloNews. The quieter we make this, the better for everyone, agreed? Of course, we should settle this...democratically, shouldn't we?" He crosses his arms and waits for one of the others to speak. "Sade, you've been remarkably quiet since we got off that rock. What do you think?"

"I've never shipjacked before," Sade said, "but I've jacked a few speeders in my time. I can get you guys past the electronic security measures easily enough and get the ship working without the owner's access codes. If it comes to a fight..." Sade shrugged. "That's more your thing."

“I too can easily get past the electronic security measures ,” Seethor said smugly, “ I’ve actually shipjacked quite a few ships before…it’s a very profitable venture…well as long as you don’t get caught."

OOC: We could steal a YT-1300 that isn’t the millennium falcon.

"If everyone is sure this is what they want to do, I'll help as well. Just don't expect me to fly the ship or anything - that's definitely not my thing. Heck, just a few years ago I wouldn't set foot on a spacecraft."

OOC: That might work, but keep in mind that means infiltrating the palace and will be a very high-profile theft. Queen Apailana is an important political figure in the Republic and an important Loyalist.

Lirc watched his compatriots. Ka'den was looking toward the Theed spaceport; Se'ethor was looking toward the palace. Lirc could tell what each was thinking. Turning to Se'ethor, Lirc remarked, "You know, taking a ship from the Naboo royalty might be more difficult, but we'll be travelling quickly and in style. Also, it could gain us some credibility with the Separatists..."

Seethor glanced at Lirc then back at the palace. "I actually hadn't thought about the credibility it would bring us. I was just thinking I could steal any vessel in the spaceport any day but how many chances in life do you get to lift one of those rare royol nubian chromo plated beauties." Seethor still kept staring at the palace almost lost in thought. "But you are right Lirc....it would be difficult. We should consult the rest of the group."
