IC: Sun in the Shadows

"If we hit the largest garrison, we will do one of two things. We will either end up broadcasting our intent, or we will hurt them. It may be wise to be as stealthy as possible, but then again, I don't know if that's possible. And if we steal one disk, no matter which one it is, they may increase security on the others."

"And if we make the two seem unrelated? The disk may not be under the protection of the garriso. Just something to think about..."

"If they do increase security," Ashur says, "then hitting the one with the most security to be increased first may be to our advantage."

Sidralaynu sat quietly for a moment, weighing her options.

"You both have good points. I will direct my pilots to go wherever you wish. Tenah, you have more experience than I do on dealing with the Empire, and the universe at large, so I trust your judgement in this."

Tenah was somewhat taken aback at her trust considering he had done nothing to earn it. However, he regained his composure quickly and responded, "Then I move that we start with Cato Neimoidia. Ashur's argument has only solidified that idea in my mind."

"There is little chance of avoiding bloodshed, I think. We just need to be careful that it is not our blood that is spilt."
Sidralaynu smiles at the girl sadly and then turns to the two men, apologetically.

"I am sorry I did not bring this up before. I have one of Valco's vibroblades. It is customary, on my world, to remember the dead by some memorial. Would either of you object if I were to mount his blade on the wall in the ships common area? I think it is the least we can do for our fallen companion."

"I think that is wise," Ashur says. "Let the spirits of his ancestors protect our hearth."

Hearing this, a little of Tenah's resentment toward his companions washed away. They did not forget their companions immediately after death.

"Yes. That should be done."

"Good. As soon as our destination is decided, I will move it from the memorial wall in my quarters to a new one in the common room."

"I am still in favor of Cato Neimoidia, if Ashur agrees."

"I agree," Ashur says.

"I will follow wherever the group decides," Lexa says.

Tenah nods respectfully and he and Lexa head to an unoccupied room. "Is there anything I can help you with, Miss Lexa?"

The thought of anyone being able to see his future greatly disturbed the Chiss. "I cannot betray anyone, for I am on no one's side but my own." With that he stormed out of the room and walked around for a time.

Sitting down against a wall, Tenah fell asleep and began envisioning what Lexa had told him. He woke up in a cold sweat, having seen himself covered in blood. Whatever he had to do... he could not fail in his mission.

He walked back to where the rest of crew had gathered before and tracked down Lexa.

"Lexa, while I am currently in this by myself, I could use a helping hand. It is difficult for a loner like myself to ask for aid, but what I am doing must not end in failure. I need your help avoiding the fate you foresaw so that my goal might be accomplished. What do you say?"

"Any help would be appreciated." With that, Tenah and Lexa went their separate ways. Going to his quarters, Tenah pulled out a small notebook and began flipping through it. Finding an empty page, he began making note of his recent observations...

After checking in with her pilot's, Sidralaynu retrieved the dagger from the memorial wall in her quarters, and moved it to the common room. With little difficulty, she placed a shelf on the middle of the wall for it. After placing the vibroblade reverently on the shelf, she sits back to contemplate the past, and the near future. However, she's not really in a melancholy mood, so she ends up pulling out her datapad to research the planet they are bound for, hoping someone will happen by to distract her from the tedium of a long flight through space.

Having finished her conversation with Tenah, Lexa wanders out into the common area, where she finds the silver-skinned noble reading.

"Hello," Lexa says. "I hope I find you well."

OOC: BTW, Tzlil, did you notice the OOC thread? I made some slight changes to your character.

Sidralaynu looks up and is very pleased to see the young woman standing in the doorway.

"Hello. I am quite well, thank you for your kindness. How does the day find you?"

She beckons to the girl to come and sit in the next lounge, and pushes a tray of snacks closer to the offered chair.

"I am so glad that you will be joining us."

*bump*

"Thank you Lexa, I believe that is the reason we have all been thrown together like this." Sidralaynu smiles gently at the younger girl and stretches out on her lounge, smoothing the silky black fabric of her light dress as it cascades past her knees.

"So tell me, what brings you to the stars? What are you seeking?"

As the younger girl pauses in thought, they both hear a sound in the hall as Tenah stumbles. Sidralaynu receives a brief, bright flash of pain in her mind, he had probably stubbed his toe. With a quick glance, the two women agree to invite him in, and Sidralaynu calls through the open door for him to join them if he wishes.

"I follow the Current wherever it guides me," Lexa says somewhat evasively in response to Sidralaynu's question. "And you?"
