IC: Sun in the Shadows

OOC: Yeah, I was really only meaning to add some flair. The random firing was meant more so as personality/style development than action.

From her place on the other side of the heavy door frame, Sidralaynu draws her blaster, aims for the guard's head, and fires.

(OOC: Ok, I think that was my 3. )

The silver-skinned telepath lines up her blaster and ||fires|| at the Zabrak bodyguard, but her shots go wide.

Alija cries to Alk Rosh, "Do not let them defeat you, Alk! Gun them down for their treacherous trespassing!"

Alk Rosh sends out another ||[http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3319691/]barrage of fire[/url]|| against Valco, hitting him squarely in the abdomen. Valco is still up, but he's badly wounded and winded.

OOC: Alija uses Inspire Confidence on Alk Rosh, giving him +1 to attack and all skill checks until the end of the encounter. The attack against Valco has moved him down the condition track. Your turn, Wes.

Seeing Valco get hit, Tenah rises from his defensive position and aims another shot at the Zabrak and takes it.

Tenah unleashes a volley from his charric, ||singing the bodyguards armor|| but little else.

Ashur then charges in with his heavy broadsword, but the Zabrak ||deftly dodges|| the blow. Simannu then attacks with her claws but fails.

Valco unleashes another volley from his blasters, but to no avail.

OOC: Invisible Castle went down again after Ashur's attack. :/

Sidralaynu fires her blaster again before reaching forward and grabbing one of the blades hanging off of Valco's belt.

Sidralaynu fires at the Zabrak, but her shots ||miss||.

OOC: I'll be back with Alija's and Alk Rosh's next moves soon.

Alija maintains her position.

Valco, seeing his doom near, makes a glorious effort to act swiftly, and he throws all his fleeting life into a ||final volley|| from his pistols! One hits the Zabrak hard in the left shoulder, another in the right thigh.

Alk Rosh levels his blaster at the impudent scoundrel and ||blasts him in the throat||. Valco drops to the ground, a smoldering corpse.

OOC: I had Valco spend a Destiny Point to act out of turn, then a Destiny Point for each attack for an instant critical. I don't recommend following his example unless you too are planning to go out in a blaze of glory. Tenah, you're up.

Seeing his comrade taken down, Tenah jumped up and launched more shots at the Zabrak.

Tenah's ||attack|| fails wildly.

Ashur summons all the power of his ancestors behind his attack, ||gouging a deep gash|| in the Zabrak's side before Alk Rosh can dodge.

OOC: Ashur uses a destiny point for an automatic critical.

The Zabrak bodyguard is bloody, badly wounded, and fatigued--but he's still standing!

OOC: Your turn, Tzlil.

Taking in her foes wounded state, Sidralaynu fires at him before moving into the room and firing again, this time aiming for the gaping wound in his side.

OOC: Did I use too many moves?

OOC: Who is this guy? Zabrak Boromir?

OOC: @Tzlil: Yes, but consider it flavor text. @Wes: The dude's a tank. :p

Sidralaynu rushes into the room firing, but her attacks are ||insufficient||.

Alija maintains her position.

Alk Rosh swiftly holsters his blaster and pulls out his vibroblade--leaving an opening for Ashur to attack, but the wounded Zabrak ||dodges||. The bodyguard then attempts to impale Ashur, ||niching the young adept|| in the ||leg||.

OOC: Oh well... This guy really is a beast. He just doesn't want to die!

Tiring of the battle, Tenah leaves his cover and begins moving toward their enemy, firing his weapon off at him as rapidly as possible.

Quickly stepping forward, Sidralaynu lowers her weapon and addresses the girl in what she hopes is a soothing way.

"Don't worry, we are friends, Madame. Our intentions are peaceful, though our methods to gain access to you have not been so, to our sorrow," Sidralaynu looked at the motionless body at her feet, Valco. "We have come to liberate you."

Tenah walks quickly over to Sidralaynu and the girl and raises his gun toward the latter. "Why shouldn't we kill you right now? Prove that you are worthy of our protection, and not just a trickster companion to that boromiric Zabrak."

OOC: Boromiric (adj.) - being able to sustain great injury and yet keep fighting, seemingly dealing more damage in the act of death than in the rest of their life. :-P

Ashur notches an arrow and points it at the Chiss. "What do you think you're doing?!" he demands. "We're here to rescue the marchioness, not kidnap her, extort her, or harm her!"

"The way I see it, the burden of proof is on her. How do we know her father didn't anticipate our rescue attempt and plant a fake here in the room who would act as a spy in our ranks. Now that Valco has sacrificed himself we have one less person to keep an eye on her."

Noting the scowls that he was receiving from his remaining comrades, Tenah lowered his weapon and holstered it.

"If you truly believe that the girl is who she claims to be, then I will not interfere. But we must be very careful. In this region of space, our actions are considered treason. I don't plan on staying in this part of the galaxy much longer, much less a prison cell for the remainder of my days."

He took several steps back from the front line position he had found himself in, attempting to find a shadow in which to hide himself. After all, out of sight, out of mind.

"It's all right, Tenah. According to my telepathy, she is who she says she is. That or she believes she is who she says she is. Go ahead and be skeptical if you like, a bit of skepticism never hurt anyone." She smiles at him, her own sense of cation kicking in. She is reluctant to try her telepathy against her ally, but she does not completely trust him. Pointedly turning her back, she opens the ornately carved doors to the large wardrobe.

"Well, we do need to get out of here soon, so let me grab her ladyship some clothing and we can be off. Would you happen to have a cloak or something of the sort so you won't be quite as recognizable on the street?"

Sidralaynu tosses a large bag to Ashur and starts flinging clothes at him to be stuffed into said bag. After she has "packed" a few brightly colored dresses as well as a rich pantsuit ensemble, a few suits of more suitable day clothing, and a few pairs of shoes, she turns to the group, with a cloak in hand.

"Shall we be off then? Preferably before we're discovered?"

The foursome makes their way back to the spaceport without event. They board the Storm Flower and find that Valco's ship has been impounded by the Tapani Sector Security Force.

The ship's pilots take it into hyperspace; you have now begun the day-long journey to Dantooine. Lady Alija slips away into the privacy of the quarters provided for her.

Ashur sits down in the lotus position on one of the luxury yacht's fine couches. "I shall be communing with my ancestors for the next standard hour," he says. "Please do not disturb me."

OOC: Feel free to fill in whatever your character is doing, engage in conversation, or what have you. Ashur will join in again when he's done meditating...he's practicing one of his Force regimens, Quiet the Mind, which gives him one additional use of the Farseeing Force power for the next 24 hours and the Visions talent.
